LGISD Says Turf Field Should be Ready for Football Season

The renovation of Leopard Stadium is moving forward, despite all the rain. To date, the site demolition is complete and there has been two feet of compacted select fill subgrade installed. Scoreboard and Play Clock

Spectrum Scoreboards, the installer for the scoreboard and play clocks, has removed the existing scoreboard, signs and play clocks in the end zone areas. They are relocating the scoreboard and signs to an area outside the track at the south end of the stadium. The scoreboard and signs will be placed on three I-beams which are 47 feet in length and have been primed, painted and installed. The beams sit in 12 feet of concrete and will have an above field grade of 20 feet from the bottom of the scoreboard to ground level. The scoreboard is being placed on these beams to allow for the possibility of future expansion of placing a video board below the scoreboard. Piping for the play clocks has also been installed. The cost for this work was $34,933 and was part of the total budget for the stadium project.
