Donation Made In Memory of Lillie Sulak

On Monday, June 29, Jane Sulak Lewis and her husband Rob presented Father Ed Karasek with a donation to the Clerical Endowment Fund (CEF) in memory of Jane’s mother, Lillie Sulak. The CEF is a special project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (ADCCW).

Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Saturday, July 24 around 1 a.m. Deputy Seth Nagel conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy. 71 westbound near FM 955 on a 2013 Kia for a traffic violation. As Nagel approached the male driver the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and the driver admitted to marijuana being in a travel bag. Nagel located two large bags of marijuana, three smaller packages of marijuana, blunts, and a grinder that contained multiple buds. 24-year-old Christopher Anthony Joseph of Baytown was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Local kids were treated to an amazing array of local knowledge when first responders put on a program for the library reading club earlier this month. Deadlines Near for 2022 Major Show Tags

Major Show Heifer Tags Any 4-H or FFA member in Fayette County who plan on showing heifers at the 2022 spring major shows and have not validated them, change of ownership or change of breed, must place an order for the number of heifers they wish to validate. The costs of the validation materials is $17 and must be ordered through the Fayette County Extension office no later than Sept.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Friday, July 23 around 9:30 p.m. Deptuty Dustin Kieschnick conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy. 71 near FM 955 on a 2019 Chevrolet Impala for traffic violations. Upon contact with the male driver the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle.
