Women’s Retreat Sunday at Lutherhill

There will be a Women’s Retreat at Lutherhill on Saturday, May 3. It will start with lunch at noon and end at 4 p.m. This event is hosted by Shared Lutheran Ministry and will be led by Pastor Jen. Lee Ann Hartmann is providing the lunch and Sharon Fritsch will be the musician for worship. 

Recharge and reconnect with your faith, each other and God through Bible study, prayer, worship and fellowship.

Sunday/Confirmation Class Shared Lutheran Minitries Sunday school and the confirmation class will meet at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at St. John in Rutersville. This will be the end of year celebration as both groups will break for the summer. 

Mother’s Day Bake Sale St. John in Ellinger will have their annual hot dogs and bake sale fundraiser on Saturday, May 10 at the church. 

Come get lunch and your goodies for Mother’s Day weekend. 

Worship Services Shared Lutheran Ministries Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion. 

St. Mary’s Catholic Church St. Mary’s Catholic Church mass is every Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. 

Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. 

The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page. 

Chamber of Commerce Bingo will be held on Saturday, May 3. Doors open at Women’s Retreat Sunday at  4 p.m., kitchen at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, desserts and refreshments will be available. The hall is located at 104 W. Colorado Sky.

Cemetery Historic Designation The Cesko Narodni Hrbitov Cemetery in Ellinger, Texas was established around 1884. In 2000, the cemetery was designated a Historic Texas Cemetery and this year, on May 18, at 2 p.m., the 25th anniversary of this designation will be commemorated. The board that oversees the maintenance and preservation of this historic cemetery invites the community to come out to the cemetery for this celebration.

The Cesko Narodni Hrbitov (aka Ellinger Public Cemetery) is located at 1705 FM 2503. For more information about the cemetery go to http://www.ellingerpubliccemetery.org. 

Hermann Sons There is a second workday on May 17 at the camp in Comfort from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 

This day will focus on preparing activity sites. 

The camp in Comfort will have an Open House on Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring your friends and enjoy camp activities such as crafts, dance, swimming etc. Birthdays Birthday Wishes to the following May celebrants: Milton Heintschel-4, Barbara Johnson-12, Conner King-19, Phyllis Fritsch and Liz Ripple- 21, Shelby Dennis-24 and Ann Heintschel-25.
