Carmine Hall to Host Fried Chicken Fundraiser Sept. 20
Carmine Hall will have a fried chicken fundraiser. The meal includes one half chicken fried with trimmings. It will be on Sunday, Sept. 20. Carry out only from 10:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. $15 per plate. MLLC Rebekah Group The Rebekah Group met on Aug. 13. The nine members present were Sedalia Ullrich, Joys Baird, Susan Ray, Diana Wunderlich, Loydine Mays, Leonita Sanders, Dianna Gerland, Nancy Eilers, and Joann Ullrich.
The Bible study was led by Susan Ray with the theme “I Am Worthy”; Session 3-I am because you are.
President Susan Ray presided over the business meeting.
Sedalia Ullrich gave the offering meditation.
Non-perishable food items for the AMEN Food Pantry in La Grange and school supplies for Lutheran World Relief are being collected during August.
A party will be held at Bec’s Blessing party in Giddings on Aug. 26 at 2 p.m.
Guest speaker for the Thank offering service on Nov. 8 will be Tim Pitts from Giddings. Wade Weigelt is catering the meal.
School kits will be assembled and quilts packed on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 9 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.
Happy Birthday was sung for birthday celebrants Joann Ullrich and Sharon Rhome.
Lutheran World Relief Kits Lutheran World Relief school kits are being collected by the Women of the ELCA of Martin Luther Lutheran Church.
Items for a kit include: four 70-count spiral notebooks; a blunt pair of scissors; a 30-centimeter ruler which includes 12-inches; a pencil sharpener; five unsharpened #2 pencils; five ballpoint pens; a two and one-half-inch eraser; and a box of 16-24 crayons.
