Muldoon Residents Urged to Report Trash Dumping
It seems that trash dumping along the county roads is on the rise. The Muldoon area has some beautiful country drives that are being blighted by the dumping of trash. Not just an odd can or paper or something small, but blatant dumping of burn barrel trash in piles. This is not only ugly, but illegal. County authorities including the sheriff’s office have been notified. If you see any dumping, please call it in. Take note of the vehicle, including tag numbers if you can and notify the authorities. We do not want the Muldoon area to become a dumping ground and destroy the beauty of the area.
Bible Study Beginning
Gretchen Andrew is leading a ladies’ Bible study beginning this Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Flatonia Baptist Church 9:30-10:30 a.m. There is still time to join in and learn more about the book of Galatians. This is a perfect study for both those who had done studies prior and for those who have never even opened a Bible. All are welcome to come and participate in this great study. It is a way to both learn more about the Bible and to meet other ladies interested in learning about the Bible. Come on out and join this opportunity to be a part of something fun and educational. Out and About
Kathy and Frank Chlumsky took on an adventure through Houston to Lake Charles, Louisiana to check up on and visit with Kathy’s mom, Nelda Lamb. While they visited Nelda, Kathy and Frank got to visit with Kathy’s sister Debbie David. Everyone enjoyed the visit along with some good food. All was good except the traffic along the way.
Church News
Coming up Sunday in Aug. 30, The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is planning a big Sunday Vittles meal. This is the chance for everyone to come out and share a meal with their friends and neighbors. Not only can you show off your own cooking skills with a favorite dish or two, you get to check out and sample a bunch of other peoples’ cooking. This is the perfect Sunday to come out and see what SG2C is all about and get to meet and visit with the congregation. The coffee and doughnut fellowship begins at 9:30 a.m. The worship service begins at 10 a.m. with the meal will be immediately following the conclusion of the service.
4th Annual Fall Round Up
The 4th Annual Fall Round Up at the Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Fall Round Up is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3. On the plans for the round up is an authentic Chuck Wagon Lunch that will be to win this valuable bovine set at $20 each and is available from any SG2C member and will be available that day. They have vendors coming out to sell their wares, a hay ride, a general store and so much more. This year it will be held at their new property at 6240 FM 609. Traffic
As school has started in the area traffic has changed. Buses are running early morning and then again in the afternoons. While the buses are running so are the big trucks through Muldoon proper. Be aware they are sometimes running fast and are not slowing down as they come through town. This can make it dangerous as you are turning on and off FM 2237 and crossing FM 154.
Little Lending Library
If you do not have any kids in school a great resource in our own community is the Little Lending Library that is in front of the fire station. This is a great place to grab a book or leave a book for others to enjoy. It is free to grab a book and enjoy escaping the heat while reading a good book.
