Mistakes Were Made

Dear readers, At one time in my early academic life (high school and early college years), I sort of dabbled around with the idea of going to medical school and becoming a doctor of medicine. Am I ever glad I didn’t do that. When doctors of medicine make mistakes, people’s very lives can be endangered or tragically ended. thankfully, for PhD’s (doctors of philosophy in economics or other social science fields) the only danger is to people’s beliefs, values, or practices, although the latter could entail their management of money, I concede.

Defending Trump

To the editor: I am replying to last week’s letter to the Editor entitled “Rule of Law.” Our country is in one of the worst of times since it was born. If elected into the White House, the Democrats will surely lead us into communism.

Hell Has Open Borders

To the editor: Last week there was a WSJ headline: “Joe Biden Evaporates but His Bureaucrats Don’t.” The commentary included the following observations: “Suddenly in 2024 we have a Democratic candidate insisting that she won’t carry out her progressive party’s most sought-after regulatory goals.” “Ms. Harris’s abandonment of her party’s regulation priorities is transparent opportunism, and surely temporary.APresident Harris standing up to the congressional left will never happen.” “According to calculations by the American Action Forum, which monitors federal regulations, the projected costs of the Biden administration’s finalized rules so far is a record $1.68 trillion, compared with total costs in the Obama years of $327.3 billion.” And finally, “there was no credible evidence she would reverse the massive growth in regulatory costs during the Biden, and Harris, years.” Actions speak louder than words.

The Loss of a Friend

I was seventeen when I ended the relationship with my best friend. I didn’t want to leave her, but I didn’t want to get caught and be embarrassed.

Democrats Peddling Hatred

To the editor: Two of the regular purveyors of liberal media talking points wrote letters posted in the FCR of September 20, 2024. As usual, the letters had no facts nor proof.

Republican Lies

To the editor: Most of us Fayette County residents believe that voters should pick our leaders, our leaders should not pick their voters. But MAGA Republicans will do anything to seize power, and when they fear they’ll lose, they lie and lash out.

On Library Books

To the editor: I enjoy your email newsletter. While I live in Colorado County and subscribe to our local paper, La Grange is a big important neighbor and knowing what is happening there matters.

The Light of Republicans

To the editor: A Reply To Last Week’s Letter To The Editor Titled “Joy And Hope” I do agree that it is more natural to be drawn to the light as well as to those people whose light shines so brightly that you can’t help but want to be around them. They bring joy into your life.

Vote Libertarian This Year

To the editor: There is only one political party that seeks to unite the country based on the great American principles of Liberty and Freedom. That party is the Libertarian Party.
