Vote Kitzman Out

To the Editor:

Last year in March, after the primary elections were complete, I posted a letter regarding Stan Kitzman, who won nomination to run for a second term representing Fayette, Wharton, Colorado, Austin and Waller Counties; HD85 also includes a number of citizens living in Fort Bend. I introduced facts about the PAC monies Kitzman had already spent, and his deep and committed affiliation with truly notorious Texas House members like Dade Phelan. Those creatures of the swamp are stilll active and alive today, controlled by successors, and Kitzman is wading deeply in that same mud.

America saw the result of a similar cabal in our nation’s capital, just days after New Years 2017, before Trump took office: widely-known high officers of the Federal government, the DOJ and FBI, with false input from the opposition party, combined with national media to accomplish many terrible misdeeds against a sitting president. Perhaps some of this injustice and the adverse impact of endless lawfare, the “Washington Way,” can now be righted.

But one thing is certain: the Texas House swamp dwellers learned well by example from Washington. They repeated the same nasty trick here, and many of us observed by live teleplay, the sham impeachment of our Attorney General and its utter failure in the Texas Senate trial. Kitzman voted with others in the House to bring those empty charges.

We must not allow Stan Kitzman to continue in power. Many in this county, and signifcant numbers across all HD85 voted for his challenger; we all knew then that our House incumbent is a swamp denizen. Facing this problem, people in all six counties are now working to identify a candidate to run against Kitzman in the 2026 primary for Texas House.
