A few of us out here are also victims of COVID-19. We are not in hospitals.

To the Editor: People who refuse to wear a face mask during the current epidemic seem to object on the grounds that the government should not be telling them how to live - that they have a “right” to not wear a mask, and to accept the risk of getting sick or not. They are missing the point: the reason we are required to wear masks is to protect everyone else - not ourselves.

To the Editor: Just renewed the registration for my vehicle and noticed that the bill is starting to resemble a phone or cable bill with all the line items. We have the registration fee, the local fee, the inspection fee and the processing and handling fee.

To the Editor: The government cannot save you. The mask cannot save you.

To the Editor: I’m very grateful that I was recently able to participate in the virtual Texas Republican Party Convention. Many were disenfranchised due to various IT snafus.

To the Editor: I have considered our pre-COVID life and our lifelong acceptance of sickness. Whether it’s sun and melanoma, tobacco and heart/lung disease, alcohol and liver complications, colds, flu, chicken pox, food poisoning, stomach virus, bladder infections and dozens of others smaller and greater.

To the Editor: Andy Behlen, please keep your instructive and interesting garden articles coming. I anticipate the newspaper just to read them.

To the editor: I want to clarify information printed in an article which appeared in the FCR’s July 21, 2020 edition, page B1, titled “Voting Amidst Coronavirus…”. The article, in part, concerned the July 14 Primary Run-Off elections in Fayette County.

To the Editor: We really enjoyed Jeff Wick’s column, Pandemic Road Trip: To Stay or To Go, in last Friday’s paper. It brought back great memories of the years of travels with our three children in our motor home.

To the Editor: On Wednesday, July 15 I called Monument Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center to see if I could bring some of my friends some baked goods. They told me yes, but I couldn’t come inside.
