Navidad Valley CattleWomen to Meet Nov. 16 in Hallettsville

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women (NVCW) is a non-profit organization with the primary focus of beef promotion and education in South Central Texas. The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet. Additionally, they work to support the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist.

La Grange Senior Citizens Make Donation to Habitat

The La Grange Senior Citizens Activity Center, Inc. held their fall meeting/luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 3 at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. President John Rice welcomed the group and board member Audrey Huenefeld, who gave an inspiring prayer. The group then pledged allegiance to the American and Texas flags led by Glenn Altwein. Secretary Helen Oestreich read the minutes of previous meetings and Treasurer Marilyn Strmiska gave the treasurer’s report. Phil Oestreich reported 7 members of the group enjoyed a tour of Washington on the Brazos and then had lunch in Brenham on Oct. 6. Cash door prizes were handed out to 10 lucky winners.

Catholic Daughters Meet, Welcome New Members

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas No. 1962 held their monthly meeting on Monday, Oct. 24. The meeting was opened with prayer followed by the CDA Opening Ode and pledges. The charter was draped during the meeting in honor of our deceased member, Angie Kleiber, who passed away on Sept. 30, at the age of 87. She was a member for almost 40 years.
