Giddings Public Library And Cultural Center Hosting Texas Authors

Since 2006, the Giddings Public Library has hosted the Texas Word Wrangler Book Festival. This year’s Nov. 18-19 festival features 24 Texas authors who will be available to meet personally with festival attendees.

“Our festival focuses solely on authors local to Texas, giving many independent writers an opportunity to showcase their work,” said Jessi Akins, Giddings Public Library director.

This year’s festival authors are from Austin, Bastrop, Canyon Lake, Cedar Park, Cross Plains, Dallas, Georgetown, Houston, La Grange, Lampasas, Lexington, Pflugerville, Rockdale, Round Rock, Round Top, and Spring. “Our authors are great about spending time talking with the community, answering questions, and inspiring future Texas writers,” Akins said.“We’re able to offer attendees the unique experience of connecting directly with authors.”

The book festival is a twoday indoor event at the library Nov. 18-19. All 24 authors will be available at tables throughout the library. In addition to offering their books for sale, authors will autograph books for festival attendees. Selected authors are also scheduled for in-library presentations on various topics.

Festival hours are Friday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9a.m. to 2 p.m.
