Navidad Valley CattleWomen to Meet Nov. 16 in Hallettsville

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women (NVCW) is a non-profit organization with the primary focus of beef promotion and education in South Central Texas. The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet. Additionally, they work to support the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist.

The next CattleWomen business meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Cabos San Lucas Mexican Grill in Hallettsville (1636 N. Texana). The meeting will begin with a Dutch treat lunch at 11:30 a.m. The guest speaker this month is Michael Grahmann. Grahmann will share information on the Hallettsville Junior Livestock Show Commercial Heifer program.

CattleWomen support commercial heifer programs in each county they serve - Lavaca, Colorado, and Fayette County. Membership appreciate commercial heifer programs particularly because they involve many levels of consideration: live evaluation of heifers (pen of 2), exhibitor record book (presentation/ organization, accurate receipts, calculations), written exam, and exhibitor interview (knowledge, presentation).

Following the presentation, members will discuss their upcoming scholarship application process ( www.nvcw.org/scholarships. html, holiday gathering plans, and details for hamburger distribution to area high school food and consumer science programs early in 2023.

Interested ladies are always welcome. If you plan to attend or would like to carpool to the meeting, please contact president, Tanya Schindler at (979) 743-1737 or tanya@sctxsales. com. Being an active cattle producer is not a requirement but having a passion for the beef industry and rural living is.
