Pietsch Family Reunion Held in Winchester; Community Garage Sale Set Nov. 12

Community Wide Garage Sale The new date for the Winchester community-wide garage sale is Nov. 12. Anyone wishing to take part, please call Bobbie Hajek at (979) 639-1646. International Quilt Festival MargaretAtkins, Pat Karisch and Rhoda Gersch held a Quilt Block paint class at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this past week. Fifteen individuals from across the country enrolled in the class and completed blocks to take home. This is the second year that Margaret, Pat, and Rhoda have been asked to offer this class at the show. The International Quilt Festival is the largest annual quilt show in the United States and attracts over 55,000 people from 35 countries all over the world. There are more than 1,000 booths for quilts, fabric, supplies, and crafts along with 550 classes and lectures for all experience levels. The show features a display of more than 1,600 quilts and unique works of textile art. If you are a quilter, it is an event you would want to attend.
The annual Karl Traugott and Anna Marie Handrick Pietsch family reunion was held this past month at the St. Michael’s Park in Winchester. There were 70 family members present.

Longtime Muldoon Resident Passes

Long time Muldoon resident, Wanda Saunders passed away on Oct. 26. Wanda passed away the day before her 85th birthday. She was born in Houston to Herman and Shirley (Hanes) Williams. She is survived by her two sons Bobby Saunders and Michael Saunders, grandchildren Paul Saunders; Luke Saunders; Michael Saunders Jr; Madison Castellano; and McKenzie Saunders along with six great grandchildren.

RT-C Class of 1955 Reunites; Carmine Lions Make Donations

The Round Top-Carmine graduating class of 1955 held their 67th reunion on October 22 for lunch at JW’s Steakhouse. Out of 22 graduating classmates (12 boys and 10 girls), there were seven class members present. The group decided to have a reunion next year on the fourth Saturday in October.
