Over 730 German students from 42 High Schools across Texas competed this past Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Texas State German Contest, held at Texas State University in San Marcos.

The Texas Women’s League (TWL) will hold their annual Gala on March 4. TWL provides financial assistance to Fayette County Charities. A large art of the donations come from the silent auction, which is virtual this year. There will be a wide selection of beautiful and useful items this year. One item is the original pair of lovely cardinals painting by artist Norma Chesnutt Bowman; she is also a TWL member. The Bugle Boy Foundation reached out to And Then A New Day with an second opportunity to participate in a song working workshop with musicians/songwriters: Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines. This opportunity was available to And Then due to a grant received by the Bugle Boy from the Texas Commission on the Arts, Second Chance Emporium (Fayette Resale, Inc.), and Texas Women’s League.
