Otto Named to Honor Roll

Erica Otto was named to Southwestern University Dean’s Honor Roll and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll. Otto of Schulenburg was named to the Southwestern University Fall 2022 Dean’s Honor Roll and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll. Otto is a sophomore dual student-athlete majoring in Kinesiology/Pre-Med. To be eligible for the Southwestern Dean’s Honor Roll, a full-time undergraduate student must complete a semester schedule of at least 12 academic hours and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.60. To qualify for the SCAC Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference. Otto is a 2021 Salutatorian graduate of Schulenburg High School. She is the daughter of Keith and Stacy Otto of Schulenburg, and granddaughter of Harvey and Gloria Oeding of La Grange, the late Nolan L. Bruns Jr. of Schulenburg, Barbara Otto of Shiner, and the late Kenneth R. Otto of Shiner.

Local Non-Profit Gets 1,280-Pound Feed Donation for Rescued Chickens

National, sustainable pet food company Grubbly Farms has donated two pallets – or 1,280 pounds – of World Harvest Grubblies, all-natural snacks for chickens, to The Chicken Rescue of Round Top. The Chicken Rescue is a 501(c)3 volunteer organization dedicated to the care of sick, injured, neglected and abused chickens.

Fayetteville City Secretary Hired

F City Council approved Sandee Wilkinson as City Secretary at the last City Council meeting. A resolution was approved for Fayette County to provide scheduling, equipment, manpower and supervision to make repairs to the streets of Fayetteville during this fiscal year.
