Locals Able to Participate in Workshop With Hendrix and Maines at Bugle Boy
The Bugle Boy Foundation reached out to And Then A New Day with an second opportunity to participate in a song working workshop with musicians/songwriters: Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines.
This opportunity was available to And Then due to a grant received by the Bugle Boy from the Texas Commission on the Arts, Second Chance Emporium (Fayette Resale, Inc.), and Texas Women’s League.
Fourteen members were able to spend two days with this amazing duo brainstorming, writing, and rehearsing their very own songs to perform. Music is a unique way for our young adults to express themselves. It then came time to have a performance for all close friends and family. Everyone got to sing their own, original song and partner up for a group performance. The group did an amazing job and received a standing ovation. These young adults were so talented and loved being applauded for all their hard work.
Thanks is owed to The Bugle Boy (grant writing and venue), Heather Albright (grant writing and coordination), Terri and Lloyd (workshop leaders), And Then Staff (Amy Machac, Emalee Fey, and Erin Wotipka), and Sandy Kusy (photography) for their part in making this possible.
