Following the regular meetings of the H.J. Ehler American Legion Post 102, La Grange, and its Auxiliary on Wednesday March 8, members enjoyed delicious homemade stew cooked by J.R. Baca and Odis Pfeiffer, followed by anniversary cake provided by the Auxiliary celebrating the 104th birthday of the American Legion. A Hallettsville native who today calls La Grange home, a popular polka band performer, the president of a club that’s dedicated to things most folks have never heard of before and a manager at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center got named the 2023 Moulton Chamber Appreciation Award winner Sunday, March 3, when the group gathered at the Geier-Merrem American Legion Hall in Moulton for its 74th annual event.
The Texas Ramp Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides free wheelchair ramps to low-income older adults and people with disabilities identified by local health care providers. Ramps are built exclusively with volunteer labor, keeping costs to a minimum and are built without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, age, or gender.
