    Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department Raising Funds for Equipment

The department has started selling raffle tickets and there are only 1,200 tickets available. The fundraiser is on April 20 at the Chamber Hall and the drawing will be that day. Presence not necessary to win. There are 21 prizes on the ticket and all proceeds will go towards the purchase of the new equipment.

Shared Lutheran Ministry Ellinger will be parking cars in Warrenton on March 20-21. Also, Ellinger will sell baked goods at the Warrenton food booth on March 23-24. Donated baked goods are appreciated. Please only nonperishable, bagged and labeled items. Donated items will be picked up early in the morning of March 23 from St. John-Ellinger. To sign up to volunteer or for more information, please contact a church member.

March 22 mid-week service will be in Rutersville at St. John’s with Pastor Jen Kindsvatter and Pastor Jill. Soup at 6 p.m., worship at 7 p.m., all are welcome.

The Shared Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. at St. John’s in Rutersville with the congregational councils meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook,YouTube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

Brethren Church

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Recycle Trailer

The Fayette County recycle trailer will be at the chamber hall on Wednesday, March 29 at 1 p.m.

LGISD

There will be an early release at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 31.

Chamber of Commerce The next Bingo event will be on Saturday, April 15. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the kitchen opens at 5 p.m. Bingo starts at 6 p.m.

Junior Livestock Show The Fayette County Junior Livestock Show will start on Friday, March 24 at the Fayette County Fairgrounds with the broiler show at 8:30 a.m. The lamb show is next at 10 a.m. followed by the goat show. The steer show is at 1 p.m. with the heifer show immediately afterwards. The rabbit show is at 4 p.m. and the swine show at 6:30 p.m. Ag mechanics will begin at 4:30 p.m. Cakes are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 20 at the Extension Office to be judged the very next day. The sale will be on Saturday with the buyers registration at 12:30 p.m. Free will donation for a hamburger meal will be served. Heifer review is at 1:30 p.m. and the sale of champions will start at 2 p.m. Come out and support the youth and their projects.

Central Texas Food Bank The Central Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Saturday, March 18 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Food distribution will be walk up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as clients walk through the line making their selections. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy, reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. The Waldeck food truck is on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m. The next date will be April 15.

Hermann Sons

The camp in Comfort, Texas is still looking to hire medical staff. Nurses, paramedics, CMTs and CNAs are needed. Benefits include flexible schedule (1-6 weeks), competitive salary, free camper tuition and free private room and board.

The City Council will meet Thursday, March 23 at City Hall.
