The Latest on St. Mark’s Hospital Transfer Efforts

Last Friday, Hospital Center of Excellence (HCOE), the group planning to take over operation of St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange, and the current St. Mark’s management team met with three different groups of employees in a town hall type open format to present the plan for transition according to the term sheet, the next steps, and the current plans for the hospital after the transition.

Kids Learn the Art of Cooking in Downtown LG

Throughout the summer, Le Petite in La Grange has been hosting cooking classes for kids, ages 5 through 12. Each class has a specific theme with related recipes. Kids participating in a class have the opportunity to learn each recipe with hands-on experience and instruction, and afterwards get to take home a list of the recipes they made and a cooking related gift.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Association Court Queen of the Holy Rosary #2282 recently presented awards for their 2022-2023 Education Contest. Contestants based entries on themes, “We walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Corinthians: 5;7 OR “When do I have to lean on my faith more than sight?”

Country Opry Coming Up July 17 at KC Hall

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, July 17 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange, Texas. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.

Fayette County Leaders Tour the New EMS Facility in Schulenburg

The Judge of Fayette County toured the brand new Emergency Medical Services Office in Schulenburg at 219 Medical Parkway. The new facility is equipped to serve residents in this area of the County. Josh Vandever, the EMS Director of the County said, “This has been a long process. Commissioner Drew Brossmann and his crew have stepped up to make this facility possible.”
