Muldoon Residents on Alert After Suspicious Vehicles

There have been several reports of suspicious behavior going on in the Muldoon area. One case was a white truck driving onto people’s property, driving around their home to the back and looking around. The house was occupied at the time and the driver was told to leave immediately. The truck was also observed to have been going up other driveways and driving around the homes. Some of the activity was caught on video camera.

City of Carmine Offering Debris Pick Up

C The City of Carmine has contracted Texas Commercial Waste to run a waste truck to pick up tree debris from the May 16 storm. This service is only for customers that pay for the City of Carmine’s trash service.
Pictured is a very large tree that fell and hit the walking bridge in Carmine City Park on May 16. The park is currently closed until it can be cleaned up. There were also many other trees and limbs that fell in town.

Fayette County Employee Health Insurance Costs to Jump Again Next Year

At Thursday’s commissioners court meeting Orlando Espinoza of the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) gave a presentation about the annual renewal for employee insurance benefits. TAC provides health, vision and dental insurance for Fayette County employees. Espinoza said Fayette County will see an 8.5 percent increase in health insurance costs next year. The County experienced a similar jump last year. That compares to an average 4.6 percent increase across TAC’s insurance pool.
