Muldoon Residents on Alert After Suspicious Vehicles
There have been several reports of suspicious behavior going on in the Muldoon area. One case was a white truck driving onto people’s property, driving around their home to the back and looking around. The house was occupied at the time and the driver was told to leave immediately. The truck was also observed to have been going up other driveways and driving around the homes. Some of the activity was caught on video camera.
Another case of an unwanted vehicle was also observed parked just outside another person’s house and did not leave until a family member came to the home. They seemed to be checking the house out and did not want to be caught doing so and left immediately upon being seen.
These do not appear to be people who are looking for a particular place due to the suspicious nature of their actions. Please keep an eye on your neighbors’ place. If you see something odd, out of place or a vehicle you do not recognize, call them and double check. We must be active in keeping our little community safe. Get to know your neighbors. Be observant of what is going on around the area. If we all pull together, we can make the area safe once again.
Weather
Muldoon saw some wild weather recently. Strong winds and rain brought some in the area a problem with their power. Several residences lost power for a while after due to electric lines being lost in the storm. Broken limbs and debris were left after all the storm blew through. Leaving messes to be cleaned up, but nothing like others to our north.

Road Closed
FM 154 at the bridge just north of Old Smithville Road and south of Parker Road will be totally closed for replacement beginning on Monday, June 3. Please use the routes advised by TxDOT via FM609 or Hwy 95 through-Cistern. The county roads are already busy with those who live on them, are narrow and cannot handle an increase in traffic. Just think ahead and add some time to your travel schedule and to go around. It will be faster and safer.
Speed Reunion
For those who are related to the Frank, Tom or Bob Speed families the 75th annual Speed Family Reunion will be held on the second Saturday of June. This year will be on June 8 starting at 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A potluck lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Out and About
Recently Ron and Pam Knotts returned from a road trip to Shreveport, Louisiana to see a concert featuring the Castellows, a new group on the country music scene. The three sisters began their public career just two years ago and have released several songs they have written. They are currently actively touring across the country. It was recently announced that later this year they will be on tour with Little Big Town and Sugarland. Ron and Pam attended the concert at the Louisiana Grandstand, a listening room located in a historic mansion in downtown Shreveport. After hearing these girls in person it’s easy to see they will be very successful.
I had a little excitement recently. My friend, Alayna Kidd put out an SOS that she needed help selling jewelry due to her husband needing to go back to Colorado. So, I hopped onto a plane at the last minute and flew to Indianapolis, Indiana to work at the Mecum Auto Auction. It was a great experience to see so many beautiful and rare cars that went across the auction block. We were set up in the staging area of the auction, so we got not only to see the cars, but also all the people who were there to purchase anything from old, restored tractors to lots of cars from various movies! It was an experience a gear head would dream of.
