Round Top-Carmine baseball player Hunter Schobel recently performed on the mound in ways that would save the Cubs’ season. Round Top-Carmine defeated Richards High School in a tiebreaker match by a score of 2-1 just to get into the playoffs. This was followed by a dominating performance against High Island with a 17-7 final score to advance to the second round.

The Schulenburg softball team beat Refugio in a best-ofthree playoff series last week to advance to the third round. The Lady Horns beat Refugio 7-4 in the series opener Thursday as Brianna Vavra pitched a complete game fourhitter with 13 strikeouts.
