La Grange Faces Houston Worthing
The La Grange volleyball team will battle Houston Worthing in a 4A bidistrict playoff match Monday Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Katy’s Merrell Center.
The Lady Leps finished the regular season 19-23.
The winner of Monday’s match advances to play the Gateway Prep/Gatesville winner in the second round.
‘Horns Face
Woodsboro
The Schulenburg volleyball team begins its quest to get back to the state tournament as they play Woodsboro Tuesday Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. in Cuero.
The district champ Lady Horns (32-12) played a postseason warm-up match Saturday against Neches winning 19-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.
Landry Zapalac had 43 assists.
Emmrie Marx had 14 kills, Jessalyn Gipson had 13 and Meredith Magliolo had 12.
Magliolo had five blocks. Kieryn Adams had 37 digs and Madison Kunschick had eight.
Flatonia Faces
Skidmore-Tynan
The Flatonia volleyball team played a postseason warm-up match against Sacred Heart at home Friday, winning 20-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17, 16-14.
Here are the Flatonia stats: Aces: Katelin Sullivan with 8, Elzah Herrera with 4, Greenli VanZandt with 1 and Avalon Saavedra with 1.
Assists: Summer Sodek with 21, Katelin Sullivan with 12 and Elzah Herrera with 5.
Blocks: Katie Templeton, Emma Klozik, Katelin Sullivan with 5 each. Kalen Scott added another 4.
Digs: Elzah Herrera with 13, Katelin Sullivan with 7, Sadie Noska with 7, and Summer Sodek with 6.
Kills: Katelin Sullivan with 17, Summer Sodek with 15, Emma Klozik with 5.
The Lady Bulldogs open the 2A playoffs with a match Monday Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. at Victoria West versus Skidmore- Tynan.
RT-C Gets First
Round Bye
By virtue of their District 28-1A volleyball title, the Round Top-Carmine Cubettes get a first round bye and will await the winner of the Leverett’s Chapel/High Island match in the second round.
The Cubettes are ranked No. 3 in the state in 1A and have a 33-7 record.
Fayetteville to Host First Round
The Fayetteville volleyball team is 17-22 overall and was the runner-up in District 281A and they face Dime Box in the first round of the playoffs, Monday Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in Fayetteville.
The winner of that match advances to face Neches in the second round.
