La Grange High School junior Macie Collier is headed back to the state track meet in the 300 hurdles, just like she did as a freshman. And Collier is a real threat to get on the medal stand this year.

Schulenburg junior Caden Herzik had one heck of a winning streak this tennis season. He didn’t lose a single match all year until the regional finals two weeks ago in Corpus.

In information provided at Monday’s Banquet, the All Sports Booster Club has raised over $150,000 since 2022. The 2025-26 All Sports Booster Club officers are pictured to the right.

Editor’s Note: O’Neal asked if we could share these words to LHS athletes as another school year ends: I’ve experienced a lot of firsts this year stepping into this community- one of them being my first All-Sports Banquet at La Grange. And what a setting it was.

With Mother’s Day arriving this Sunday, I found myself looking back on this time last year. It’s funny how a single weekend can change a family’s landscape as surely as a spring flood changes a shoreline.

The Flatonia softball team (16-6) bashed Riviera Kaufer 10-0 and 12-2 to sweep their way to an Area title in Beeville last week. In Game 1, Jalee Trussell pitched a complete game onehitter and the Lady Bulldogs bashed out nine hits.

Three Fayetteville High School track athletes (Mason Fenhaus, Cole Jurecka and Cambree Denham) are headed to the state track meet by finishing in the top two of their events at the regional meet in Seguin last week. When their backs are against the wall, that’s when the La Grange base team is at its most dangerous. For the second consecutive season the Leps faced down elimination against Sealy in a Game 3 in the Bi-District round of the playoffs and survived.
