La Grange’s Ashtyn Smith Earns AAU All-American Recognition
La Grange’s own Ashtyn Smith has been named an AAU All-American after an outstanding performance at the AAU National Volleyball Championships in Florida. Competing in the highly competitive 16U division against some of the nation’s top athletes, Ashtyn was selected as an All-American Athlete —an honor awarded to only a select group of players in her age division.
Known for her relentless hustle, exceptional court awareness, and leadership in the back row, Ashtyn’s recognition reflects the hard work and dedication she has put into her game over the years. She is has been the starting Libero for La Grange High school since her freshman year she is a junior this 2026-2027 school year She is coached by Blair Gillard Riley a La Grange High School graduate of 2014 whose passion for developing athletes has helped guide Ashtyn’s growth on and off the court. She also trains under Milton Koller the head coach of Texstar Volleyball Club out of Weimar, whose leadership and commitment to excellence have played an important role in her success.
Ashtyn’s All-American honor is a tremendous accomplishment, bringing pride to her family, coaches, teammates, Texstar Volleyball Club, and the La Grange community. She is the daughter of David and Brooke Smith.
