Czhilispiel Cancelled

The Flatonia Chamber of Commerce cancelled the 48th annual Flatonia Czhilispiel, which was set for Oct. 23-25.

“The Flatonia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors made the very hard decision, with orders from the County Judge Joe Weber and the Fayette County Chief of Emergency Management – Craig Moreau, to cancel Czhilispiel 48 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic,” Czhilispiel organizers said in a statement on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Sponsors will be given the option to leave their donation and use it for CZ49 or receive a refund. The Czhilispiel 48 Pageant will still go on with protocols in place to limit the spread of the virus. For more information, call the Flatonia Chamber at (361) 865-3920.

Czhilispiel was the last major festival in Fayette County to cancel due to the coronavirus this year.
