A member of the Greatest Generation has died. Elroy entered this world on Sunday, Oct. 31, 1926, the third child and second son to John Zimmermann and Annie Ohnheiser Zimmermann. He died on Sept. 23, 2023, at the age of 96 years, 10 months, and 22 days.

Gilbert Edward Canik, 84, of Industry, passed away suddenly on Sept. 20, 2023 in College Station.

Jeanette Florine Albers Chovanec, 92, was born on May 6, 1931 in Waldeck and died on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 in Houston.

Lorali Bauer Schultz was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in La Grange, to Weston and Verbie Meinen Bauer. She was baptized on June 13, 1943, in the home of William and Gesine Bauer by Reverend Carl Baer. She was confirmed March 30, 1958, at St. John Lutheran Church in Warrenton, by Reverend W. E. Doerr. Her confirmation Bible verse was John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.”

Delton Roy Koenning, 83, of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
