Hertha Annette (Friemel) Kruse passed away April 20, 2026 at the age of 95. She was a longtime proofreader and front office employee of The Fayette County Record before retiring several years ago.

Milton Lee Schultz, 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Milton was born in Fayette County on Aug.

Lorena P. Mueller went to her eternal rest on April 15, 2026. She was born on April 17, 1930, in Lavaca County to Michael D. Parker and Juel Wimberly Parker. She graduated as valedictorian from Yoakum High School, completed business school and worked as a bookkeeper.

Joe M. Bailey was born June 8, 1942, to Joe Weldon and Margaret Murray Bailey in Memphis, Tenn. Joe missed the chance to be a native-born Texan because his native-born Texan parents were temporarily residing in Memphis when he arrived, but he got to Texas as quickly as he could. He died April 9, 2026, and was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Bailey; his parents; and his brother, Dr. Ralph Bailey.

Lillian Millie Laqua, age 88, of Victoria, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Victoria. She was born on May 24, 1937, in Ellinger to John and Sophie Jasek.

Funeral services for Arthur Noack, 81 of Northrup, were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Rose Ann Kokes Recek, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 13, 2026, at the Monument Hill Care Facility in La Grange. Rose was born in the Hostyn community on Aug. 18, 1931, the daughter of Ludvik and Agnes (Muras) Kokes. She attended school at Queen of the Holy Rosary parish in Hostyn before staying home to help tend to the family farm.

Dorothy Weber, 92, of West Point passed away peacefully on Friday April 10, 2026. She was a resident at Regency Nursing and Rehabilitation for the past year. Dorothy was born in Fayette County on April 25, 1933, and grew up in the West Point area. She lived in the La Grange area most of her life. Her parents were Lester A. Votaw and Paulina Reiss Votaw.

Ronald Charles Polasek, lovingly known as Ronnie, was born on Aug. 11, 1955, in La Grange, to Charlie and Lorine (Malota) Polasek, and passed away on April 8, 2026, in the same community he called home all his life. He was a Christian man whose life was marked by faith, hard work, generosity, and devotion to the people and places he loved. Ronnie’s earthly journey ended following a farming accident, but the legacy he leaves behind is one of strength, kindness, and steadfast service.

Alois Anthony Janda, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Alois (Al) was born in La Grange on June 13, 1945, the son of Alois Richard and Edith Bernadette (Janacek) Janda.
