Bernice Kolar Condon was born to Joseph Thomas and Frances Vyvjala Kolar, Feb. 20, 1922 in the family home. The doctor pronounced her dead. The nurse covered her, but noticed her finger was moving. She lived to be 98. She died Dec. 30, 2020 in Houston.

A memorial service for Robert Carney, 77 of Ledbetter, was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Tim Pitts officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Lee Pierce and Dixie Morene Pierce, and her brothers, Alvon “Boe” Pierce and Kenneth Pierce. She is survived by her children, Darlene Strahan and her husband, Lynn; Sharlene Bohr; Susan Iglinski; Sonja Guenter; and Jason Lewallen and his wife, Poncie; her grandchildren, Lindsey Hahn, McKenna Lewallen, Jade Lewallen, David Lewallen, Payton Guenter, Jana Mehl, Jeremy Strahan, and Gina Bohr; and eight great-grandchildren.

Velorie Fay Dippel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at Grand Living at Riverstone in Sugar Land, at the age of 91. Velorie was born on March 7, 1935, in Latium, Texas, to Walter and Meta (Noak) Kraemer.

Michael Gerald Moore, born Sept. 3, 1962, in Marion, South Carolina, passed away on July 1, 2026, in Austin.

Joyce E. Freudenberg, 84, of Rutersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Dr. James Joseph Hrachovy, affectionately known to his community as “Doc Rock,” went to be with his Lord and Savior, on June 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy defined by his compassionate care, deep faith, and enduring work ethic. Visitation with the family at Brenham Memorial Chapel will be on Friday, July 10, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the Rosary. On Saturday, July 11, visitation at Saints Peter & Paul in Frelsburg, will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., then the burial and a meal in the Diamond Center.

Melroy Gilbert Berger passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 29, 2026. He was born to Albert and Adela (Kainer) Berger on Oct.

Franklin Louis Schobel, born March 20, 1942 in Columbus, to Louis Schobel and Violet Klump Schobel passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Round Top.

Anthony “Tony” James Scanapico, born Feb. 3, 1941, on Long Island, N.Y., passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, in Houston.
