Emil Bara Thomas Jr., 88, died peacefully at his Fayette County, Texas, home on Memorial Day, May 25, 2026, in the arms of his wife, Elaine, on the night of their 30 th wedding anniversary. He was born in San Benito, Texas, 10 miles from the Rio Grande River, the only son of Emil Bara Thomas Sr. and Geraldine (Geri) Stolley Thomas Gross.

Vicki was preceded in death by her mother, Inez Mobley Dawson; her father, Ralph Dawson; her husband, Richard Landrum; her sisters, Wanda Russell and Alice Stewart; her brother, Ralph “Sonny” Dawson; and her granddaughter, Jane Sterling.

Lula Mae (Gates) Preston was born on Jan. 5, 1927, to the late Bertha and Charlie Gates in La Grange. At the earl age of 13, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour and was baptized at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mathis. Mother Preston faithfully remained a member at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church from 1949 until the lord called her home May 18, 2026.
