Carney

A memorial service for Robert Carney, 77 of Ledbetter, was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Tim Pitts officiating.

Robert Dale Carney was born on Oct. 27, 1948, in Sherman, the son of H.O. and Verna Mae (Gaskill) Carney.

Robert passed away unexpectedly the afternoon of Friday, July 17, 2026, at his home in Ledbetter.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Carney of Ledbetter; his three children, Josh and Chelsea Carney of Elk Grove, Calif., Lee and Lauren Carney of Burnet, and Caitie and Riley Weishuhn of Columbus; seven grandchildren; his three sisters, Carol and Eddie Kennedy of Sherman, Pam and Ronnie Walker of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Linda Foley of Ft. Worth; his brother- in-law, Andy Barton of Van Alystne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
