Freudenberg
Joyce E. Freudenberg, 84, of Rutersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Joyce was born in Fayette County on March 22, 1942, the daughter of Annie Freudenberg.
She was baptized on July 30, 1942 in Saint Peter Lutheran Church of Prairie Valley in West Point, and confirmed on May 6, 1955 in the Prairie Valley Church as well. Joyce was a lifetime member of the church, serving on the altar guild for many years. She was also a member of Hermann Sons Plum Lodge 238.
Joyce was a lifelong resident of Fayette County, dedicating her life to caring for her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, godmother, and friend to many during her lifetime.
Joyce enjoyed shopping and antiquing. She loved to go to the movies and eat out. She never wanted to miss a birthday party, graduation, wedding or any occasion for those she loved.
She is survived by her godchild, Jamie Zbranek and husband Aaron, of La Grange; Heather Bush and husband Brad, of College Station; uncle, Gilbert Freudenberg; special children, James and Annette Zbranek, Braden and Ainsley Bush, Emily and Claire Dornwell; cousins, David and Karen Freudenberg, Harry Lee and Stacy Freudenberg, Rodney and Patty Freudenberg, Janice Mullen and Victor, Betty Barney, Katy and Kevin Murphy, Linda Isbell, and Donna and Robert LeBlue.
She was preceded in death by her mother,Annie Freudenberg, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A visitation was held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Saint Peter Lutheran Church of Prairie Valley in West Point with Pastor Herb Beyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Saint Peter Lutheran Church of Prairie Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Peter Lutheran Church of Prairie Valley or to the Prairie Valley Cemetery Association.
