Fair Parade Begins Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The Fayette County Fair runs Thursday through Sunday this week, and one of the main attractions every year is the annual downtown parade. This year's theme is “Roaring Twenties!” This year’s parade is scheduled for Saturday, Sept.

Hurricane Harvey Buyouts Could Take Another Year

The project to buyout and demolish the Hurricane Harveydamaged homes on Country Club Drive could take another year to complete. Fayette County Commissioners voted on Monday to approve an extension to the County’s grant application for the buyout project.

Bluebonnet Lions Install New Officers

The La Grange Bluebonnet Lions held their Aug. 19 meeting at their new location in the Randolph Recreation Center. Lion David Wagner, zone chair and president of the Noon Lions, was on hand to assist in the installation of the 2021-2022 officers. Senior Citizen Center Sees Increase In Participation

Recently, an anonymous donor drop off some Whataburger gift cards at Navidad Valley Community Connections (NVCC) and left a note that said “for Bingo Prizes.” So, NVCC started having a drawing every Monday to generate some excitement. So far, Aileen Kasper and Freda Ellison have been prize winners. Then, NVCC offered a Whataburger gift card for the last Bingo of the day, which is always a black-out, and Betty Stolarski was the winner this past Wednesday.

RT Lions Donate to CASA

Kristi Bauer, executive director of CASA, recently accepted a $1,000 donation from the Round Top Lion’s Club. CASA supports and promotes court appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect. Monument Hill Remembrance Public Ceremony Set Sept. 18

Join descendants of the Dawson and Mier Expeditions, members of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Sons of the Republic of Texas, community members, Sites staff, and volunteers as they honor the soldiers entombed on Monument Hill. The memorial ceremony will include guest speakers, wreath laying, and gun salute.

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative Offices Closed Labor Day

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 6, in observance of Labor Day. Bluebonnet members can access their account information and make payments while the offices are closed through the co-op’s website at bluebonnet.coop.
