Monument Hill Remembrance Public Ceremony Set Sept. 18

Join descendants of the Dawson and Mier Expeditions, members of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Sons of the Republic of Texas, community members, Sites staff, and volunteers as they honor the soldiers entombed on Monument Hill. The memorial ceremony will include guest speakers, wreath laying, and gun salute.

Texas Heroes Day 2021 will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18. The Monument Hill Rememberance is open to the public.

Seating may be limited. Personal lawn chairs are welcomed and encouraged. The ceremony will be streamed on Facebook for those unable to attend in person.

After the ceremony, Sites staff and volunteers will provide living history demonstrations, interpretive programs, and opportunities to explore the grounds of Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites.
