Harvey House Donation Made to Habitat
Members of the boards of Habitat for Humanity and the Fayette County Disaster Recovery Team met recently at the site of Habitat’s planned senior housing community, “Camp Street Cottages.” The DRT has donated $30,000 to the Habitat project, the cost of materials for one house. DRT president Larry Jackson presents the check to Patrick Caballero, Habitat president. Pictured from left are directors of the two organizations, Kenny Couch, Mel Burgess, Kyle Hartmann, C.J. Malota, April Krhovjak, Phil Oestreich, Janet Gillentine, Carol Martyr, Khalil Coltrain and Marsha Pyle. The DRT donation came from funds remaining from their Hurricane Harvey recovery work. Habitat hopes to construct 10 small houses on the site at the intersection of Camp and North College.
