La Grange Police Report: Aug. 29-Sept. 5
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 29 through Sept. 5.
Assault
On Aug. 30, Patrolman Kevin Currington responded to the 600 block of N. Jefferson for an assault and theft that occurred the day before. Officer took information for report.
On Sept. 3, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Vail at the high school stadium for an assault.
Accident
On Aug. 29, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 2100 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for an accident in the parking lot. No injuries.
On Sept. 1, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to N. Horton and E. Travis in regard to an accident including two vehicles Officer took the report.
On Sept. 2, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Jefferson in regard to an accident that occurred in the parking lot.
On Sept. 3, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to the 300 block of N. Jefferson for a private property accident in which one vehicle backed out of a space striking another vehicle. Officer checked the driver’s license and insurance for both drivers and issued a blue form to both drivers.
Animal Complaint
On Aug. 30, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a cat in distress in the 500 block of W. Lowerline and he was unable to locate.
Alarm
On Aug. 30, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to an alarm in the 700 block of E Travis. Officer arrived on location and found the building to be secure.
Criminal Mischief
On Aug. 29, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of W. Colorado for a window broken at the location. Officer met with the owner of the business and retrieved surveillance video that identified the subject.
On Aug. 29, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of W. Colorado where caller stated she found glass on the door of the Fayette County Courthouse broken. Officer took photos and completed the report.
Citizen Assist
On Aug. 31, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Pearl to help a citizen with possible identity theft. Officer made contact with the individual and there was no identify theft.
Civil Matter
On Aug. 30, Currington was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 business for a civil matter. Officer took information.
Disturbance
On Sept. 1, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of Northpointe Ave. in regard to a disturbance and a citation was issued.
Family Disturbance
On Sept. 1, Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Fannin for a family disturbance. The disturbance was between siblings. Officer took information for report.
On Aug. 31, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of Edgewood for a family disturbance between mother and juvenile. The juvenile was written a citation.
Public Intoxication
On Sept. 1, Meinardus was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 159 where caller stated that he believed someone followed him to the location from Bastrop. Subject admitted to officer that he was under the influence of drugs. Officer arrested the subject for public intoxication.
On Sept. 4, Meinardus was notified of a subject detained for public intoxication at the fair. Officer arrived and placed the subject in custody for public intoxication.
Reckless Driving
On Aug. 30, Currington was dispatched to the area of 900 S. Jefferson for a reckless driver. The driver was located and was fine and advised they had dropped something on the floorboard and was trying to reach it.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Sept. 3, Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for subjects flagging down vehicles. Officer made contact and the subjects advised everything was fine.
On Sept. 4, Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Franklin for subject reporting a vehicle in his driveway. The vehicle turned out to be the neighbors’ vehicle and the neighbor then moved it.
On Sept. 4, Currington spoke with a subject about buses at the KC Hall in the 100 block of S. Brown. Subject was advised buses were for shuttle service to and from the fair.
Theft
On Sept. 4, Wostarek spoke with complainant in the 400 block of E. Travis in regard to a stolen license plate.
Trespassing
On Aug. 31, Anderson received a call regarding a trespasser in the 1300 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. The male and female had left the location when complainant called police. Officer was not able to locate the two subjects. Officer will issue a trespass warning when the male subject is located.
911 Abuse
On Aug. 30, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Monroe for kids playing on 911. Officer arrived and there was no answer at the door.
