Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of May. Detective Marc Bennett investigated two cases of sexual assault of a child and obtained charges in reference to one of the cases and the other is still under investigation.

The Hostyn KJT Society No. 3, Saints Cyril, Methodius, and George met Sunday, May 22, in the Church Narthex after the 8 a.m. mass. The members enjoyed donuts, which were provided by President Shannon Fietsam. Cookies and coffee were also available to the members.

The employees of Colorado Valley Communications (CVC) presented a $750 donation to Hospice Brazos Valley. The money comes from charity contribution from the employees. The La Grange Ministerial Alliance is planning a community-wide worship and praise service to benefit Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Parish in Hostyn. The service will take place Sunday, Aug. 14, from 4-6 p.m. at the KC Hall in La Grange.

Ellinger Mayor Matt Mikulenka signed a proclamation designating June 14 as Flag Day in Ellinger. On hand for the signing were members of KJZT Family Life Society 41 of Ellinger. The proclamation states that “KJZT Family Life societies have long proclaimed their patriotism by celebrating and honoring National Flag Day.
