Friends of the NRA Gives $4,500 to Sheriff’s Department

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek announced that the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a grant from the NRA Foundation and Friends of NRA in the amount of $4,500. The money received from the grant will be used to fund the purchase of service ammunition to be used for enhanced firearms training for Sheriff’s Deputies, Reserve Deputies and Corrections Personnel.

Tree and Principal Drama in Giddings

Bellville Times Charley Smith announced June 28 that he was resigning, effective immediately, after 37 years as city attorney. “I’ve had enough,” Smith was quoted as saying, after dealing with several hot-button topics over the past few years relating to subdivisions, annexations and other issues.

Fayette County 4-H Students Compete at Texas Roundup

Numerous Fayette County 4-H students competed in the 2022 Texas 4-H Roundup at Texas A&M University in College Station on June 7-9, 2022. Texas 4-H Roundup is the pinnacle event for all of Texas 4-H, with senior 4-H members competing in approximately 50 diverse competitions throughout the week-long event.
