Shorthorn Marching Festival and Clinic Held

The Pride of Schulenburg Marching Band started competitive season strong, receiving a Division 2 excellent rating (the second highest score possible) by both judges at the annual Shorthorn Marching Festival and Clinic. For the past two years, the Schulenburg band has hosted this event, bringing in experts in the marching band field. This year’s clinicians were Dr. Scott Deppe-retired director of bands Lamar University and Dr. Sarah Burke-director of bands Blinn College. Each band received a 50 minute on-field clinic with the clinicians to help improve their performances as they prep for the upcoming UIL competitions.
