Pancake Supper is This Thursday

There will be some changes this year to the annual La Grange Rotary Pancake Supper which will be held this Thursday, Feb. 2, from 5-7 p.m. The first change is the location. It will be held at the new La Grange Elementary cafeteria. Another change is a return to dine-in, with all you can eat returning to the dinein crowd as well. The dine-in entrance will be at the main entrance of the elementary school on S. Jackson St. Parking is available on S. Jackson St. and Milam St.

FISD Interviews Six Coaching Semi-Finalists

The Flatonia ISD Board of Trustees interviewed candidates last week for the open position of athletic director and head football coach. Superintendent Chris Sodek said he and the selection committee selected eight candidates for interviews by the school board. Two of those withdrew from the race, Sodek said. The school board scheduled interviews with the remaining six candidates. The interviews wrapped up last Friday. Sodek said the school board would select a finalist and announce their decision at an upcoming meeting. Their next scheduled meeting is Feb. 16. Sodek said the school board may call a special meeting before that date to take action on the athletic director position. Sodek declined to name the candidates interviewed by school board last week, citing confidentiality concerns. The Record filed an open records request for resumes of the interviewed candidates.
