This week at Smithville High School, 46 members of the Mighty Leopard Band performed at UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest, and 31 advanced to UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest. UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest takes place Memorial Day Weekend.

The Round Top Family Library is pleased to announce that Craig Moreau, has accepted the role of Executive Director for the Library. The Round Top Family Library is considered a jewel in the community of Round Top and surrounding areas, providing programs and services to people of all ages and serving as a community activity center.

The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association visited Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia on Monday, Feb.13. Fifteen were in attendance; all enjoyed the delicious food and lively fellowship. The group is trying out having a field trip schedule in the months that have no meeting dates; so far, it has been met with favorable responses.

On Thursday evening, Representative Stan Kitzman attended Governor Greg Abbott’s State of the State address that outlined his goals and emergency priorities for the 88th Legislative Session. Representative Stan Kitzman is serving his first term in Austin proudly representing House District 85.

Amanda (Zoch) Knox was an active and contributing member of the La Grange and Warda communities for many years.Through her service, she made a lasting impression on countless individuals. Knox was a teacher of Social Studies for seven years at the La Grange Middle School and an active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She worked with the gifted and talented (GT) students and helped train teachers in the use of upcoming classroom technology and best teaching practices.
