La Grange Hires Kyle Cooper as New Football Coach/AD

La Grange football fans should get ready to see the Leopards throw the football – a lot – this fall.

Friday the La Grange school board approved the hiring of Kyle Cooper, whose Ponder High School team led not just Texas but the entire nation in passing yards per game last season, as the new Leps head football coach and athletic director.

Cooper’s team averaged 425 yards per game through the air in 2022.

A drive-thru only fish fry meal fundraiser sponsored by Court Annunciation No. 1962-La Grange Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be held on Friday, March 3 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the KC Community Center in La Grange. Retired Teachers Meet in Flatonia

The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association visited Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia on Monday, Feb.13. Fifteen were in attendance; all enjoyed the delicious food and lively fellowship. The group is trying out having a field trip schedule in the months that have no meeting dates; so far, it has been met with favorable responses.

Rep. Stan Kitzman Attends State of the State Address

Knox Memorial Scholarship Established

Amanda (Zoch) Knox was an active and contributing member of the La Grange and Warda communities for many years.Through her service, she made a lasting impression on countless individuals. Knox was a teacher of Social Studies for seven years at the La Grange Middle School and an active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She worked with the gifted and talented (GT) students and helped train teachers in the use of upcoming classroom technology and best teaching practices.
