AMEN Food Pantry Welcomes Fresh Produce on Mondays and Thursdays

The AMEN Food Pantry continued to be remarkably busy in the month of April. 286 families were served for the month for a total of 821 individuals. Food donations received were 6,141 pounds.

Looking back to 2019, the pantry served 141 families and required 84 volunteers for a total of 154 hours. A total of 150 volunteers for 314 hours served the pantry this past month. This indicates the increasing food need in our area.

The mobile food pantry in Waldeck statistics were 52 families with 143 individuals. This is a service offered by Central Texas Food Bank; AMEN provides the labor to distribute the food. Twentythree volunteers assisted with the mobile pantry.

The spring/summer season brings fresh garden produce. AMEN welcomes fresh produce brought on Mondays at 9 a.m. or Thursdays between 10 a.m. and noon.

The upcoming summer months traditionally are the slowest time of year as to food donations and monetary donations. As everyone enjoys the festivities of summer, remember that the need for food assistance continues.
