Ellinger VFD Fundraiser Sunday

The fire department will hold the annual fundraiser on Sunday, April 30 at the chamber hall. The barbecue and sausage dinner is $12 a plate. Serving in the hall starts at 11 a.m. Chicken to go will be at the pits and costs $10 a chicken beginning at 10 a.m. The drive through will start at 10:30 a.m.

Local Seniors Make Day Trip to College Station

Have you seen Senior Connections new look? The center has been given a facelift of sorts, and we love it. Thanks to Amanda Kridel, new Marketing and Development Director, for putting the final touches on the new logo, new updated website, our new name is official now, and we have a really cool color scheme.

Correction

The submitted photo in Tuesday’s paper of the Round Top Fashion Fling misidentified two of the ladies in the photo. The woman to the left of Kathy Weishuhn was Weishuhn’s sister Linda Barnett. Also, the woman to the left of Janet Bayer was Janet’s mom Delores Bayer.

Record Wins Awards at South Texas Press Association Convention in Beorne

The Fayette County Record won several journalism awards at the 97th annual South Texas Press Association Press Convention in Boerne last week. The Record competed in the largest readership division against other semi-weeklies from around South Texas, papers from Uvalde to El Campo to Lampasas and others in between.

City Manager Gives Updates on Roads

La Grange City Manager Fred Bell gave an update on several road projects in town. Bell said Texas Department of Transportation could complete the paving work on the new Travis Street Bridge by the end of this week.
