Shelter Has 137 Animals

Stray dogs and cats running at large present a health hazard for Fayette County citizens. Spay and neuter is the only way to manage the stray, unwanted dog and cat population in Fayette County. The Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter offers a discount voucher program to the citizens of Fayette County for the spay/neuter of family pets. Call (979) 966-0021 for more information. As of July 28, total intake is 1033: 482 dogs and 551 cats in need. As of July 28, the shelter has 137 animals in care: 56 dogs/81 cats. This number includes animals in the facility, in foster care for medical, waiting on available space, or awaiting transport to rescue partner.
