Zilss Hall, located at the corner of Memorial Hall Road and FM 153 in Winchester, will be the site of the monthly Winchester Farmer’s Market this Saturday, June 3 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Vendors will be selling crafts, homemade food items, plants, eggs, and locally grown produce until noon. If you would like to be a vendor, the cost is $10 for a space and you must bring your own table and chairs. You may register on site. For more information, contact Shanti Odom at (512) 913-9110.

Memorial Day Honored In LG With Ceremony

Memorial Day, formerly known as Decoration Day and first celebrated in 1868, was not officially declared a national holiday until 1971. At the Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home, a Memorial Day ceremony was held to recognize the service and dedication of Fayette County veterans.

Six Lep Soloists Earn State Band Medals

On Saturday, May 27, 26 members of the La Grange High School Band performed at the UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest at Hendrickson High School in Pflugerville. Five quartets performed and made a Division 2 - Excellent rating. Six students performed solos, and all six soloists earned UIL State medals:

For the Record

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
