The Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) is now accepting applications for the 2023 Community Impact Grant Cycle until Sept. 30. Nonprofits within an 80-mile radius of La Grange, Texas can apply. Priority will be given to programs focused on Mental Health and Workforce Development and education, but others can apply to the FCF Donor Response Program, available yearround. Donors can connect with pressing rural area needs through this program. Organizations can apply to the Donor Response Program Grant at any time, but only once every 12 months. La Grange ISD yearbooks are on sale now at their lowest price all year long. Order online at yearbookforever. com or send a check payable to LGISD to your school campus, or to LGISD Yearbook, P.O. Box 100, La Grange Tx 78945. High school books are only $50 until Sept. 30. Prices for the rest of the year are: October-December, $60; January-April, $70. Elementary and middle school books are $20 until Dec. 31, and $25 from January-April.

National Night Out At Fairgrounds
Celebrate safe communities with your neighbors on Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It all takes place at the Fayette County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Games, bouncy house, hot dogs and games. Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. The meal will be chili dogs and members are asked to bring a side or dessert.
La Grange KC Turkey & Dressing Supper
The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will hold their annual turkey and homemade dressing supper, including noodles, broccoli with cheese sauce, cranberry sauce, and roll, will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Carmine Night Out Oct. 5
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce, Carmine Lions Club, and Carmine Volunteer Fire Department are sponsoring Carmine Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 5, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Carmine Fire Station. Enjoy free hot dogs, drinks, R&R Shaved Ice for the kids, and door prizes for adults. A flag retirement ceremony will be held by the American Legion Post No. 338 and Round Top-Carmine 4-H. Fire trucks will be on display and a helicopter will be arrving at 7 p.m.

The La Grange Noon Lions Club meets on Thursdays at noon at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Ledbetter VFD Fireman’s Feast
The annual Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department’s Fireman’s Feast will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Ledbetter Firemen’s Park in Ledbetter. Enjoy bingo from 4-6 p.m. A fried chicken dinner will be served from 5-7 p.m. for $15 per plate. The live auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Ledbetter VFD. Czech Heritage Society Meeting
The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society meeting will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at the TCHCC in La Grange. Members are asked to bring one or two meaningful Czech souvenirs or artifacts and share a memory about them. Bring a favorite snack. New potential members and/or guests are invited to attend.

The 2nd annual Busted Oak Cellars Chili Cook off and silent auction, plus arts and crafts, will be held Saturday, Oct. 14. Simmons, Lemons, Adams Reunion Due to the death of an immediate family member, The Simmons, Lemons, and Adams annual family reunion has been changed to Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Blase’s Hall in Hallettsville. The scholarship application date has been extended to Oct. 6 and winners will be announced during the family reunion. Feed The Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
