St. Mark’s Wound Care Center Receives Award

St. Mark’s Medical Center (St. Mark’s) is pleased to announce that their Advanced Outpatient Wound Center is a recipient of RestorixHealth’s highest achievement, the Wound Center of Excellence Award. Recipients of this prestigious award meet or exceed national wound care quality benchmarks over a set period of time.

1973: Lightning Kills Cattle & Damages Hay Shed

A bolt of lightning killed a large bull, three cows and two calves and knocked off the corner of a hay shed at about 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Joe Marek place at Willow Springs. The Mareks estimated the loss at $2,500. However, the nearby Marek home and country store escaped damage in the storm in which about an inch of rain fell.

Cowboy Church in Muldoon Planning Food Drive

The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is hard at work in the community. They are planning an upcoming food drive on Sunday, Sept. 3 for the hungry in the area. This is a great way to join in. Bring a can good to church and stay for a great service. The fellowship starts at 9:30 a.m. with coffee on Sunday mornings, and then morning worship begins at 10 a.m. They welcome any and all who wish to find out what is going on next to the park or that just are looking to find a church to call home.

$191,900 Seized After Traffic Stop

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday, Aug. 22 around 2:05 p.m. Fayette County Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Ford truck dually on I-10 west bound at the 665 mile marker near Engle for a traffic violation.

FEC Expands Partnership With Parton Library

The Fayette Electric Cooperative Board of Directors is happy to announce that they have expanded their partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. After a successful one-year pilot program in the La Grange area, books will now also be available to children living in the following zip codes: 78941, 78956, 78963, 78962 and 78959.
