La Grange One-Act Play To Hold Pair Of Public Performances This Weekend

La Grange High School’s One-Act Play proudly wrapped up their 2024 season after competing at the UIL OAP Regional contest in Carthage last month. Performing “And Jack Fell Down” by Richard Weaver, LHS One-Act Play earned 4th at Regionals and took home multiple individual awards: Riley Lowe-Best Actor, Molly Hudson-All Star Cast, Austin Williams-Honorable Mention and Kameron Behrens-All Star Crew.

The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 8, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. The Auxiliary Scholarships will be awarded to the recipients by the Unit prior to the meeting. The Unit will review and update the Constitution, By-Laws and the Standing Rules. The Unit’s election of Officers’ will also take place. Members are encouraged to attend and new potential members are always invited to attend. A light meal will be served.

La Grange Senior Citizens Group Meets, Hears From New City Manager

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center, Inc. held their spring meeting and luncheon on Thursday, April 25, at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. President Phil Oestreich welcomed the group and had an opening prayer. The group then pledged allegiance to the American and Texas flags. Secretary Helen Oestreich read the minutes of previous meetings and Treasurer Marilyn Strmiska gave the treasurer’s report. Board member elections were held with Liz Tannler and Mary Vasek being re-elected and new members elected were Larry Jackson, Janet Moerbe and Janet Rangel.
