The September meeting of the La Grange ISD School Board was held on Monday, Sept. 16. Jeff Parker was the only person to speak. He congratulated the board on making the decision to take oversight on the issue of purchasing books at last month’s meeting.

La Grange Police recovered a stolen pickup following a bizarre series of events on Monday, Sept. 16.

Burglars broke into nine vehicles in La Grange early Tuesday morning. They got away with numerous portable electronics, computers and other valuables.

A non-profit Christian book club for women is sponsoring a new program for girls in 5th and 6th grade. The program starts Monday, Sept. 23 and runs through Dec. 2 on Mondays from 4-5 p.m. at New Life Methodist Church located at 1215 N. Von Minden. The cost for the fall session is $10. This includes snacks, activities, books an all materials. Applications can be picked up at the church or emailed to parents by request by calling (713) 962-8452. Girls will have a book to read and discuss each week in small groups. Groups are limited to 12 girls per grade level.
