The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a BBQ and the Women will hold a bake sale Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of St. James Men’s Club.

Contestents at the Cistern Country Store Halloween Contest on Saturday, Oct. 26, entertained the audience by performing an action depicting their character. All participants were winners. The Cistern Store costume contest also had Sister Allie (pictured to the right), the Un-Nun Nun, was acknowledged, even though she didn’t want to participate in the contest.
