BBQ & Bake Sale

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a BBQ and the Women will hold a bake sale Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H-E-B. A half chicken is $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of St. James Men’s Club.

No Winner, Jackpot Rises

Nobody was able to pick all 10 football games right in last week’s reader pick-it contest sponsored by Farmers Lumber Company so the jackpot rises to $200 this week. Good luck!.

Cistern Store Halloween Costume Contest

Contestents at the Cistern Country Store Halloween Contest on Saturday, Oct. 26, entertained the audience by performing an action depicting their character. Above front from left to right are: Donald Trump, Alice and the Mad Hatter; back row: Peace Loving Hippie, Wengoolie and Johngoolie from the TV Show Svengoolie, Netflix and Chill, Winifred the Witch from Hokus Pokus, Bruno Mars performing Uptown Funk, Devilish Devil, and Big Bird. All participants were winners. The Cistern Store costume contest also had Sister Allie (pictured to the right), the Un-Nun Nun, was acknowledged, even though she didn’t want to participate in the contest.

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday, Oct. 29, around 9:08 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a storage container on fire at Bar W Field in Warrenton, off State Hwy. 237.

Michelle Hodge Joins Industry Bancshares Board of Directors

The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) is proud to announce the addition of Michelle Hodge, Vice President, Chief Risk Officer and Regulatory Liaison at Industry Bancshares, Inc. (IBI), to its board of directors for a three-year term of 2024-27. Hodge was elected to this position during the association’s 50th annual convention held Oct. 5-8 in San Antonio.
