RT-Warrenton VFD Respond To Storage Container Fire

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday, Oct. 29, around 9:08 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a storage container on fire at Bar W Field in Warrenton, off State Hwy. 237.

The Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department was notified and responded to the scene along with Deputy Duane Meagher. Upon arrival it was reported smoke coming from a storage container which contained antiques.

The Round Top Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire which was contained to the one storage container.

The fire was caused by an individual welding on the container which ignited the wood material inside. Damage was estimated at $40,000.
