Fayette County’s 911 service went down again last Thursday after a construction crew on US 77 cut a fiber optic line. According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the cut happened about eight miles north of La Grange on Thursday evening, Nov.

A knife-wielding truck driver arrested for assault last week in Schulenburg had a surprise waiting in his truck. When police searched his 18-wheeler following the arrest, they found multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

A police officer shot and wounded a man who attacked the officer at the Timewise convenience store in Flatonia on Monday, according to Flatonia Police Chief Lee Dick. Dick said a Lavaca County constable who was at Timewise called police shortly after 5 p.m.
